Kanoni-Pontikonissi

The well-known area of Kanoni along with the monastery of Panayia Vlacherna and Pontikonissi (the so-called Mouse Island) form a scenic setting which is the most photographed. In the area of Kanoni you will find a lot of accommodation facilities, while the location is very popular due to the amazing surrounding environment. From Kanoni you will also enjoy postcard views to the Monastery of Panayia Vlacherna, that seems as if it emerges from the sea.  Moreover, Pontikonissi, located just opposite the Monastery, is a tiny island covered with trees, where there is a church, dating back to the 13th century. What’s is really amazing is that next to Kanoni there is the airway of Corfu Airport, so you will be able to watch planes landing or taking off as you enjoy a coffee or drink in this area.
